Sam Tillen was encouraged by the attacking threat shown by his side despite a 5-3 loss on the road against Stockport County.
Kian Sagoo and Dan Vanderpuye were both on the scoresheet for the young Imps and 14-year-old Mason Jubb was the other Imps’ goalscorer, netting his second in as many games.
Sam Tillen was keen to offer both Kenzie Oliver and Jubb praise for their recent performances at such a young age.
He said: “Kenzie at 15 played really well in defence and is improving with every game and showing real progression in his play.
“Mason Jubb scored his second in two games and his composure and assurance on the ball belies his age and alongside his work rate out of possession he has set a high-performance bar for such a young man.”
Despite the result, Tillen was pleased, especially in the early stages of the match, with how his team contested and battled.
Tillen said: “I thought we competed well, the shape of our team was very good and we offered a real attacking threat on transition.
“Aside from the end result the game produced some fine individual displays for a group riddled with injuries.”
