Thank you Lisa and Sophie!

Two women pose with medals after completing the London Marathon

Foundation supporters Lisa Lear and Sophie Carter have raised more than £5,000 to support the charity’s work across the community by completing the London Marathon.

Taking on the iconic 26.2-mile challenge, Lisa and Sophie ran in support of the Foundation, with their incredible fundraising efforts set to make a lasting difference to programmes that support people of all ages and backgrounds across Lincolnshire.

Lisa’s fundraising journey was driven by her own personal experience of the support provided by the Foundation, praising the impact of its Fighting Fit programme during her cancer treatment.

Foundation chief executive Martin Hickerton thanked both runners for their remarkable achievement and generosity.

He said: “We are incredibly grateful to Lisa Lear and Sophie Carter for everything they have done in support of Lincoln City Foundation. To complete the London Marathon is a fantastic achievement in itself, but to do so while raising more than £5,000 for our charity is truly outstanding.

"Their efforts will have a real and lasting impact, helping us continue to deliver vital community programmes that change lives every single day. Everyone at the Foundation is immensely proud of Lisa and Sophie, and we cannot thank them enough.”

The money raised will help the Foundation continue delivering a wide range of community initiatives, including health and wellbeing sessions, education programmes, inclusion projects and opportunities that use the power of sport to inspire positive change.

Everyone at Lincoln City Foundation would like to congratulate Lisa and Sophie on their marathon success and thank everyone who has supported their fundraising efforts so far. Donations remain a powerful way to help the Foundation continue making a difference across the local community.
