Goalkeeper George Wickens makes his 100th appearance as the Imps host Birmingham City.

Ivan Varfolomeev comes into the starting line-up, replacing Conor McGrandles who injured a knee against Burnley last time out.

Head coach Chris Cohen said “We’re blessed to have four very good midfielders, and it’s really difficult to choose two each week.

“Ivan comes in. It was a tough decision between him and Tom Bayliss, but Ivan gets the nod. He did really well against Millwall, so deserves another opportunity.”

“It’s a wonderful game for us. As always, we know the challenge that we face this afternoon, but if we can hit our levels with the supporters behind us, we hope it can be another memorable day.”

City are hoping to build on last week’s 4-1 win over Burnley, but Cohen warned Blues will provide a tough test.

He added: “They’re one of the in-form teams and play with incredible intensity. We know the type of game they’re going to bring. We hope to implement our stuff, as always, but we’re expecting a really exciting game.

“There’ll be a lot of set-pieces, with our old set-piece coach up against the new set-piece boys, so it’ll be a really interesting game from the dead-ball situations.

“It’s an exciting game and, as always, if we get to our levels, we’re a match for anyone and can go beyond anyone.”
