Mikkel Ladefoged makes his first start for City as the Imps take on Premier League side Bournemouth in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The Danish striker, who headed home his first goal for the club to earn a point against Southampton on Saturday, comes into the starting XI after an impressive couple of appearances off the bench.

Head coach Tom Shaw said: “This is a real challenge for us and one we’re looking forward to.

“I said in the pre-match interview that this football club, when it’s an underdog, is a powerful and dangerous beast. We’ve just got to get into that mood a little bit, back ourselves and grow with every action tonight.

“The noise from the supporters will help with that. I’m informed that 500-odd Lincoln fans have travelled down, which is amazing and probably a compliment to this newer-looking group.

“I think the supporters believe in the group already. The reaction after Blackburn and Southampton at the ProAmpac Stadium was incredible, so you can see why people would want to travel down to watch this football team. We’re very thankful to them for making the journey.”
