Michael Skubala wants his side to take the game to Exeter City when the two sides meet on Saturday at the LNER Stadium.

The Imps take on the Grecians at home looking to extend their eight game unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One and build on an impressive 3-0 victory at the Weston Homes Stadium against Peterborough United last weekend.

He said: “It’s really exciting, we’re through the first ten league games so now for me we kick into the next ten which will be really important for us.

“I think everyone knows what they're about, they’ve been in this league for a while. They’re a tough team to play against and they’ve got three good wins against Peterborough, Wycombe and Blackpool this season which is no mean feat.

“We can’t take anything for granted in this league, we’ve seen so far this season that anyone can beat any team. We’re at home and we want to take the game to Exeter to try and get three points.”

City’s head coach provided an update on midfielder Dom Jefferies who has been recovering from a hip injury since the end of the 2024/25 season - the Welshman made 43 appearances in an impressive debut campaign last term.

The 23-year-old could be back on the pitch for the Imps as early as the end of October, which will provide a big boost to Skubala and his coaching staff.

He added: “Dom Jefferies is on track to be around the end of October.

“Hopefully he’ll be into team training in two or three weeks time and ready for selection hopefully around the end of October which is great news.”
