Michael Skubala hailed his professional players after they extended their unbeaten run to 22 games.
Two goals from Reeco Hackett, sandwiched either side of a Ben House strike, sealed a 3-0 win over Rotherham United in front of another sold out crowd at the LNER Stadium.
Skubala said: "It was a professional performance from start to finish and a good day at the office.
"Rotherham came with a different shape to what they have been playing with, and it took us a bit of time to get the required information to the lads. In the second part of the first half some of the football was sensational.
"We looked aggressive and were front footed. In the second half we did a really professional job, didn't give any chances up and looked really threatening through our substitutes."
With City's trip to Doncaster next weekend postponed due to international call-ups, the Imps are next back in action on Good Friday when AFC Wimbledon visit the LNER Stadium.
Skubala added: "The lads are going to have a breather for a couple of days, which is really important as some guys have played lots of minutes.
"We know football can turn quickly and nothing's done yet, but as soon as we're back into training we'll be getting ready to attack the final seven games."
