City head coach Michael Skubala has been nominated for the September Manager of the Month award.
The Imps continued their excellent start to the Sky Bet League One campaign by collecting 10 points during an unbeaten September, which included victories over Burton Albion, Luton Town and Peterborough United.
The nominees for the award are as follows:
Graham Alexander (Bradford City)
If Alexander’s promoted side were a surprise package in August, becoming a known quantity didn’t halt them as they won three games out of four, including wins over promotion rivals Huddersfield and Cardiff, to move top of League One.
Tom Cleverley (Plymouth Argyle)
Cleverley had to manage a young Plymouth squad that was still being shaped late in the transfer window while he instilled his attacking principles. He did so with verve as Argyle scored 11 goals to pick up nine points from four games.
Darren Moore (Port Vale)
While the three other promoted sides made quick starts to the new season, Moore saw his Vale team struggle for results. He refused to panic and was rewarded with wins over Exeter, Mansfield and Barnsley for nine points from four games.
Michael Skubala (Lincoln City)
Skubala and his coaching staff pick teams and tactics to suit each opponent, rotating players as needed and using his full squad. That approach translated to 10 points from four unbeaten games as Lincoln moved into the top three.
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
All winners will be announced on Friday 10 October 2025.
