City head coach Michael Skubala has been awarded the Sky Bet League Manager of the Month award for January, after picking up 14 points from six games.
Skubala's side started the month with a point against Huddersfield Town before a 5-2 victory against Peterborough United. Following a 2-2 draw at Luton Town, the Imps won three games in a row to end the month against Burton Albion, Bradford City and Wigan Athletic.
City's head coach credited the players and staff, and reiterated the importance of remaining focused on the 16 remaining games.
He said: “It is a real team effort, and we have a talented group of players and staff who put in 100% effort every day for this club. That applies to every person at the Gen2 Energy Elite Performance Centre or the LNER Stadium - they are aligned in their belief that there is more to come on our journey.
“We had a great January but recognise there’s plenty of football still to be played, and know it’ll take a lot of hard work and effort over the remaining 16 games to maintain our performances and results.”
It was a second successive unbeaten month for the Imps, who also had attacker Jack Moylan nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award, however he was pipped to the top prize by Dom Ballard of Leyton Orient.
