Michael Skubala highlighted the important role Imps supporters have played ahead of the visit of Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
City are nine games unbeaten at the LNER Stadium in Sky Bet League One and with a sellout crowd expected on Saturday, the head coach has called on the supporters to help push the team on again.
He said: “The fans were brilliant travelling last week and they’ve been brilliant all season.
“The home fans have been right behind the team which I keep saying we’re going to need it through thick and thin. We’re really proud we’re in this position, we’re going to keep fighting for every point and we need the fans to be a part of that fight.
“The fans are part of the result, especially at home. We’ve got eight games left and we would like to pick up the full amount of points.”
The Imps made it four wins in a row with a superb 4-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle last Saturday and Skubala made it clear that despite the long unbeaten run, the Imps will continue to take it one game at a time.
He added: “We attack every game the same, we are making sure that we’re not getting too far ahead of ourselves, there’s still 48 points to play for this season.
"I think when you look at these games, you want to be involved in them from players to the staff and the fans.”
