Assistant head coach Tom Shaw has signed a contract extension with the Imps, securing his future with the club until the summer of 2029.
Shaw has been with the Imps for eight years, coaching in the Academy prior to taking on the role as first team coach in 2022.
He enjoyed a successful spell as interim head coach in 2023, winning his first game in charge against Fleetwood Town before a standout victory against Charlton Athletic a few days later. Shaw became assistant head coach when Michael Skubala was appointed head coach.
Shaw said: “I’m delighted to have been rewarded with a new contract by the club and I’m really appreciative of that. I’ve been here a long time in a number of different roles and to get to this point for me and my family to sign for the foreseeable future, I’m really pleased.
“I love the football club: it’s been a big part of my coaching life and journey so I’m happy to be extending my stay.
“I thoroughly enjoy coming to work here, it’s a great set of players that I get coach every day and all the staff are like minded and ambitious. I’m very proud to work here in the role that I do.”
Director of football Jez George added “It isn’t just players that we try to develop but staff as well and Tom is one of many talented practitioners at the Elite Performance Centre who we rate highly. Tom is a great example of the pathways we provide, progressing from his role as youth team coach to working within the first team coaching staff to his current role, having also taken interim charge prior to Michael’s appointment.
“Tom has grown as a coach over the past seven years and undoubtedly has a bright future, so we are delighted that he has signed a new contract, and we continue aiming to achieve our next ambition together.”
