Sam Tillen was pleased by the attacking intent shown by his side against Salford City.
Will Cowin and Zane Okoro scored for the young Imps as they picked up all three points on the road against the Ammies.
Tillen said: “It was a pleasing result with some good individual displays and learning areas. In the first half, we offered a good attacking threat and scored a great team goal - Leo Vout sliding a lovely cross for Will Cowin to score his first league goal for us.
“However, despite our attacking threat I felt we gave up too many chances and made a tactical tweak at half time which the boys executed very well and I felt we really negated Salford.”
Tillen felt his side showed good character and was delighted with the impact of the younger players involved.
He added: “We showed very good character and willingness to defend well and ultimately get the three points.
“The team had a high number of U16 and shadow scholars who performed well alongside the attacking threat posed particularly by Zane, helped us to a very good victory on the road.”
