City attacker Erik Ring is looking forward to his first full pre-season with the Imps after a promising debut campaign in England.

The exciting wide player joined City from his boyhood club AIK Stockholm in his native Sweden in August 2024, which saw the 23-year-old experience living in a new country and playing in a new league for the first time.

Now that he feels he has acclimatised to life in England, Ring is confident he will be ready for what’s to come in 2025/26.

He said: “The break was nice, I went back home to Sweden and spent some time with my family and friends, now I feel recharged and ready for pre-season.

“I’m looking forward to having a full pre-season in England and I think it will be really beneficial for me.

“Towards the end of last season, we tried to implement a few things tactically and I believe we can use this time to improve further.

“Adjusting to English football from Sweden was a really big change for me, the level is similar but the type of football is very different.

“That took some getting used to for me, but now I’m into my second season here and I know what to expect.”

Ring finished the campaign with two goals in City’s final three league games, finding the net against Bolton Wanderers and Stockport County.

With pre-season well underway, he is hoping he can continue from where he left off last season.

He added: “As I mentioned, we finished the season well and from a personal perspective, I think the change in formation really suited me.

“I believe we have a really strong team here and if things go our way, there’s no reason why we can’t have a good season.

“From my point of view, I want to play as much as possible and earn my place in the team. If I can do that, hopefully I can contribute with goals and assists to help the team.”
