Isaac Rice is looking for the young Imps to carry the winning momentum of their 1-0 victory over Notts County before Christmas as City travel to Bradford City on Friday 9 December (12noon KO).
Last time out the Imps arrived home from Nottingham with all three points thanks to a wonder strike from midfielder, Donald Inyama. Following a Christmas break the squad have returned to the training pitch ahead of their clash with the Bantams.
Rice said: “Preparations have gone well so far, the lads came back in the right shape with a good positive attitude after the Christmas period which is exactly what you want to see.
"We’ve had a solid few sessions, worked on a few details and the overall focus from the group has been very sharp.”
Bradford City are the first challenge of the New Year for the young Imps and despite a difficult first half of the season for the hosts, Rice acknowledges the threat they pose and warns they’re not to be underestimated.
He added: “Bradford will undoubtedly be a tough test: they’re a very well organised side with a lot of quality and possess the ability to make things difficult for opposition teams.
"We know we’ll have to be at our best, show real intensity and be fully focused from the first minute if we are to come away with a positive result.”
