Adam Reach hailed his stunning strike against Barnsley as one of the finest of his career after it was crowned Lincoln City’s 2025/26 Goal of the Season.

The 33-year-old’s emphatic right-footed finish earned the top prize at City’s annual End of Season Awards, sponsored by DoughGirl, on Sunday to cap off a memorable campaign for both player and club.

Reflecting on the moment, Reach said: “It’s definitely up there. Being a left footer, any strike with my weaker foot is extra special, and it came in a win which is part of a fantastic run the club have been on.

“I think you could look through the squad and every player has got a memorable moment of the season, and I think that goal against Barnsley is my moment. So I’m really proud of that and to have won Goal of the Season."

The strike stands as a defining highlight in a season filled with standout contributions across the squad, with Reach’s effort symbolic of the quality and resilience shown throughout the campaign.

Looking back on his journey with the Imps, Reach spoke of both personal gratitude and the collective achievement of winning Sky Bet League One this season.

He added: “That epitomises football - you’re only ever a short distance away from something remarkable, and it shows that when the club get their recruitment right and try to bring in the right people, then magical things can happen.

“I’ve got a lot of gratitude for Lincoln City. I’m glad they saw something in me, and I hope since I’ve arrived at the club I’ve shown that I understand what it means to play for the badge and the principles and foundations that you need to represent this club.

“We’ve ended up achieving something incredible and I’m really glad to have played my part.”
