Adam Reach hailed one of the most memorable moments in his career after he helped City to victory at Barnsley with another eye-catching goal.
Reach struck a right-footed volley after 72 minutes to effectively seal all three points for the Imps, a third straight win which left the Imps on 44 points after 23 games - exactly half way through the regular league season.
He said: “It came out to me and I knew I hit it pure - big celebrations in big stadiums like this are what football is all about.
“I play at full-back but I feel like I can contribute with goals, and hope there’s more to come. Signing for Lincoln City has given me that spark back.”
Reach’s spectacular second goal for the Imps will dominate highlights reels, but he felt the groundwork for the victory was laid by the entire team doing the fundamentals right.
He said: “Everyone was excellent and we’ve a real togetherness in this squad - whether we start or come off the bench, everyone is determined to do well.
“It was a big challenge but we stood up to that at Stockport and backed that up with near enough a perfect away performance.
“We knew Barnsley would make some changes and throw a new challenge at us, but we defended excellently. They didn’t really challenge us and, once we went 2-0 ahead, we were so resilient that they were never going to claw that back
“We’re digging in and putting in some really solid performances, and if you want to do anything in this level you need to find a level of consistency. We’ve got some special players who can do special things, but we don’t rely on that and we do all the basics right.”
