Adam Reach believes the stability provided by his new contract extension will allow him to concentrate fully on helping City establish themselves in the Sky Bet Championship.

The experienced player has had a one-year extension triggered by the Imps, keeping him at the ProAmpac Stadium until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Reach welcomed the security of the extended agreement and is determined to play his part in another successful campaign following last season’s League One title triumph.

He said: “It’s always nice to sign a new contract, but I think at this stage of my career, having that stability in the medium term is invaluable really.

“It just allows me to fully concentrate on helping the team and hopefully having another really successful season.

“At this stage of my career you usually only get 12 months, so in the back of your mind you always know what might be coming at the end of the season.

“For me, it’s brilliant to have the rest of this season and next season guaranteed now. It just allows me to go full throttle.”

The Imps have produced some impressive performances on the road but are looking to replicate that form in front of their own supporters.

Reach added: “It’s doubly frustrating because of how formidable we were at home last year.

“We’ve had some really good results and performances away from home and we’ve been really good in spells at home.

“The difference is the level of quality. When we’re on top, which we have been in home games, you have to take your chances.

“Ultimately, at this level, if you give away a few opportunities, sometimes even half-chances, teams are going to take them and you find yourselves chasing the game.”

With Burnley visiting the ProAmpac Stadium on Saturday before Birmingham City make the trip to Lincoln the following weekend, Reach believes the two fixtures provide an opportunity to build momentum.

He added: “It’s nice for us and it’s nice for the supporters to have back-to-back home games.

“As players, we’re expecting the atmosphere to be brilliant and I’m sure the fans are expecting us to put on a really good performance."
