Charlie Carlisle believes the experience of playing against Lincoln United will be beneficial going into the 2024/25 season.
Carlisle played a starring role in City’s convincing win against the Whites on Wednesday night, striking from the edge of the box to open the scoring.
He said: “It was an excellent run out. It’s nice to come here and get a positive win.
“(On his goal) I like to try that sort of thing, it doesn’t always come off but when it does it’s nice and I’m pleased to get on the scoresheet and help the boys.”
Carlisle was pleased to get experience playing against Lincoln United, and the defender thinks that will help his team's development moving forwards.
He continued: “It's a good experience playing against a senior men’s side and it prepares us well for the season and when we progress in our careers.
“Everyone's feeling pretty good, the intensity of our play looked really sharp, and I think we’re getting there.”
