City have secured the future of four key senior staff members and added former Republic of Ireland international Paul McShane as first team coach ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Goalkeeping and set play coach David Preece, head of medical Kieran Walker, head of performance Josh Snowden and head of recruitment Joe Hutchinson have all committed their future to the Imps, with McShane also joining the club to work alongside head coaches Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw.
A Manchester United academy graduate, McShane began his coaching career with the Red Devils, in the Professional Development Phase (U17-U21) of their academy and is currently a coach with the Republic of Ireland’s U21s, for whom Oisin Gallagher has recently played.
Paul was also Lee Grant’s assistant at League One Huddersfield Town last season.
The Imps have also welcomed the following new staff members to their Gen2 Energy Elite Performance Centre base ahead of the new season:
- Arlen Newton, kit & equipment manager
- Jake Mallinder, performance analyst
- Thadi Cook, performance chef
- Jake Lloyd, performance coach
- Andrew Cant, physiotherapist
Sporting director Jez George said: “Firstly, we are delighted to have secured the services of Paul McShane to work alongside and support Chris and Tom. His skillset fits the role perfectly; he is an elite coach, and his standards, work ethic and mentality dovetail with our existing staff.
“We are equally pleased that David, Joe, Josh and Kieran have committed their futures to the club. These are top practitioners in their own areas of specialism, leaders, cultural architects and alongside Chris & Tom, massive contributors to our success last season and what we are building at the Gen2 Energy Elite Performance Centre.
“Finally, there are too many individuals to name in the support staff that underpin our football operation, who all demonstrate selflessness, dedication and commitment every day, but they are our crucial ‘team behind the team’. They have been joined this summer by Andrew, Arlen, Jake, Jake and Thadi as we continue to enhance provision for the players.”
