City travel to Sixfields on Saturday afternoon to face Northampton Town in Sky Bet League One (2pm KO).
Read what head coach Michael Skubala and centre-back Lewis Montsma had to say ahead of the game, as well as catch up on all the important match information in this preview.
Skubala’s thoughts:
“We have definitely got to work hard to change the form we are in. We feel we can do that, and that starts against another team who are fighting.
"The level of the league has definitely improved, and we are feeling that as much as any other club. We went on a really good run at the start of the season with the league form, then we have hit some not so good form. But it’s not through care of trying. It’s overtrying and being frustrated. We need the fans to get behind us no doubt.
“They have changed the way they play. They’re very different to when we played them at home. Kevin Nolan has experience at all different levels, and he’s got them set up well. You have to be on it, and that’s the challenge of this league, you can get caught if you don’t have the performances.
“We need to be one club. Everyone in the club knows what we are trying to fix and where we need to try and improve on. We need everybody and that’s important.”
Montsma’s take:
“Paudie is a very good defender, loves to head the ball and a great captain. He helps me a lot. For everyone who plays, everyone wants to score goals, but first for a defender you have to make sure the opponent doesn’t score.
“The goals will come. As long as we stay calmer and not stress as much when we get to the end phase then the goals will come. We need to be positive and take the chances when you can.
“To get three points would hopefully start a good run. I think that’s what we need, get a few wins and a bit of momentum. In two or three weeks it can be totally different and that’s football. That’s what we hope and that’s what we are aiming for.”
A look at the opposition:
Northampton are presently in 18th place in Sky Bet League One, six points above the relegation zone.
