City will conclude their 2025/26 Vertu Trophy group stage with a trip to Oakwell to take on Barnsley on Tuesday 11 November (7pm KO).

The Imps have already secured qualification for the knockout stages of the competition thanks to 3-0 home wins against Notts County and Manchester United U21.

If Michael Skubala's side avoid defeat against the Reds, they will guarantee their place as group winners and a home tie in the next round.

Michael Skubala:

"The game will come too soon for Ben (House), so we'll see how he is for Saturday. Dom Jefferies, Jack Moylan and Oisin Gallagher may get some minutes, this is a good game to potentially get them involved.

"We want to get through as group winners, that is our focus. Then on Saturday, we want to have a right good go at Doncaster Rovers and give the fans something to shout about."

Oscar Thorn:

"This is a good opportunity for me to show what I can do. This has always been a good competition for me, even when I was at Colchester.

"It is a good chance for me to impress the Gaffer and the fans, whenever I'm on the pitch I want to make things happen. Being on the right-hand side taking people on is my game and I want to show that."

Opposition information:

The Reds need just a point to join City in the knockout stages of the competition. A big goal swing would be needed for the Tykes to miss out on qualification, with their goal difference six better than Manchester United U21s and with more goals scored, too.

For Barnsley to leapfrog City, they would need to win by two clear goals.

Coach travel notice:

Please note: City's official coaches travelling to away games will depart from the bus stop on Tentercroft Street for the foreseeable future. This change is required due to changes in road layout around the Sincil Bank area, although the club are committed to working with Lincolnshire County Council to allow a return to the LNER Stadium. Imps fans who are making the trip on official coaches will still be able to park at the LNER Stadium, but we urge you to allow time to get to Tentercroft Street for the departure.
