Life-saving defibrillators have been installed at the LNER Stadium, thanks to a generous donation by heart health charity the Red Sky Foundation as part of their national campaign to improve cardiac arrest survival rates.
The LNER Stadium is the latest EFL venue to benefit from the charitable initiative, receiving four defibrillators under the “One in Every Corner” campaign.
This campaign is being supported by popular England fan Paul “Tango” Gregory, creating a lasting legacy in memory of his daughter, Lauren Walker, who tragically passed away in December 2024 following a sudden cardiac arrest.
More than 20 clubs have now already received and installed the same donation, made possible through funds raised by fans and commercial partners supporting Red Sky Foundation for Lauren’s Legacy. By increasing the number of publicly accessible defibrillators, the charity aims to protect fans, players, and also local communities at clubs in the Premier League and EFL.
To help celebrate the recent success of the club, representatives from Red Sky Foundation and Lauren’s Legacy were on hand to officially hand over the newly installed life saving devices at the match between the Imps and Leyton Orient. The donation marks another step in Paul’s mission to transform personal loss into life-saving action. Each installation contributes to the wider goal of improving 1 in 10 survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, where immediate CPR and rapid access to a defibrillator can be critical.
Sergio Petrucci MBE, founder of Red Sky Foundation, said: "This campaign ensures football stadiums across the country are equipped with accessible defibrillators, giving people the very best chance of survival. We are proud to support Paul and Lauren’s Legacy as this vital initiative continues to grow."
Paul Gregory added: "Lauren loved football, and creating this legacy in her memory means that stadiums across the country can become safer places for families and supporters. Every defibrillator installed is another opportunity to save a life, and I’m grateful to Lincoln for their continued support."
Red Sky Foundation encourages football fans and local communities to help continue the work of Lauren’s Legacy with donations to ensure more stadiums are equipped with publicly accessible defibrillators. To support the campaign or learn more visit laurenslegacy.redskyfoundation.com
