Sam Tillen praised Dakara Wifa after he played a key role in a first round FA Youth Cup win at Lichfield City.
Wifa was involved in four of the goals in City’s 5-0 win, scoring a hat-trick to put the young Imps three goals ahead before the 60th minute mark.
Tillen said: “Dakara has got a lot of quality - he’s very good in 1v1 situations and he’s a brilliant finisher. A lot of our build-up play we try to get him, Zane, Gbolahan and Dan into those areas where they can hurt oppositions.
“It was Dakara’s night, scoring three goals and setting up another one - he was very effective.”
Tillen was pleased with the way the players he approached the game and thought the way they stuck to the processes they work on in training helped secure a place in the second round of the Youth Cup.
He added: “It was good. It’s always a potential banana skin coming to a lower league team with nothing to lose and everything to gain.
“The focus for the group during the build-up was all about following our own processes, make sure we’re disciplined and do the fundamentals well. That should’ve been enough to get us a result and it was.”
