Lewy Oliver captained the side as they came back from behind thanks to a brace from centre-forward Leo Fifield and another goal from Josh Kennealey.
Oliver said: “I think from the first half there’s a few bits to work on, but then in the second half we came out, ran all over them. I think we dominated them, they didn’t really have a sniff. We were all over the second balls, so I think with the first half there’s the bits on the floor to work on but overall, I think it was a positive performance”
The central defender wore the armband for Lincoln City in this game and that came with extra responsibilities as younger players were introduce to the squad in the second half.
Speaking on that role he said: “Obviously being a young lad before I know it’s tough coming into games like these, especially sometimes you don’t have the physicality in the side or the experience so all you can do is talk, communicate and help them grow into the game as best they can. I thought the lads who came on today did brilliantly.”
Another win extends the unbeaten run in the opening stages of this season. The young Imps are clearly a side in good form and the morale in the and around the team remains high.
Oliver added: “We’re buzzing, obviously in each game there’s bits to work on, but the most important thing is winning, and we’ve won a lot of games and not lost yet either so we’re really happy.”
Despite the run of form, there’s no signs of any dip in concentration in the squad as they move on to a challenging away day at Wrexham this Saturday in another league fixture.
Looking ahead to the game, Oliver said: “We’ve got to expect a tough game and all we can do is go out and give it our best at the end of the day. It’s eleven against eleven, it’s going to be a tough game, but the lads will prepare correctly I know they will and we’ll go out and give it a good game.”
