Zach Jeacock has joined Sky Bet League Two side Northampton Town on a season-long loan.
The young goalkeeper joined the Imps in the summer of 2024 and has made 22 appearances for the club.
He featured six times during the 2025/26 season, keeping four clean sheets, and helped City progress to the knockout stages of the Vertu Trophy.
He will now continue his development with a loan spell away from the LNER Stadium.
Sporting director Jez George said: “When Zach signed a new long-term contract last season, it was with the explicit aim of him being our No.1 goalkeeper in the future. That hasn’t changed, but the timeline has changed due to our promotion which negated Zach being able to go out on loan last season as well as our intent and expectation that George will remain at the club now we are in the Championship.
“Zach, therefore, needs games and this loan will provide him with that opportunity. Northampton are a good club, we trust the people in charge, we know and respect their new head coach, Chris Hogg, and we hope that Zach can get a season of football under his belt as well as helping Northampton to compete at the top of their league.”
