It has been a huge honour and a privilege to serve as CEO of Lincoln City FC for the past nine seasons. In that time, we have experienced some remarkable highs and the occasional low. When we reflect on that journey, what stands out above all else is the unwavering commitment, care and professionalism shown by so many people behind the scenes. The individuals who have quietly and consistently helped make the Lincoln City boat go faster.
Football will always, and rightly, be about the supporters in the stands and the players on the pitch. Nothing should ever detract from that. But moments like this also offer an opportunity to recognise those whose contributions are less visible, yet no less important.
Across every department from the LNER Stadium office, the Gen2 Energy Elite Performance Centre, the Academy base at Riseholme College and, of course, the matchday workforce, including many volunteers, there are countless individuals whose efforts often go unseen. Their dedication, pride and attention to detail have played a vital role in creating the environment and culture that has enabled this success, and in helping return Lincoln City to the second tier for the first time in 65 years.
I would also like to acknowledge those colleagues who have since moved on from the football club. For a variety of personal and professional reasons they are no longer at LCFC, but their contributions remain an important part of this story. They, too, share in this achievement and take their rightful place in our history.
