Three Lincoln City players are in action during the latest round of international fixtures.
Ivan Varfolomeev, Dexter Lembikisa and Justin Obikwu have all joined up with their respective nations ahead of another crucial set of matches, with qualification for some of international football’s biggest tournaments on the line.
Ivan Varfolomeev
Ivan Varfolomeev was once again selected to represent Ukraine U21, as they continue their quest to reach the 2027 European U21 Championships in Albania and Serbia.
Varfolomeev's side picked up a point against Hungary U21 in their second game of the group stage, with the Imps midfielder playing 90 minutes as they came from behind twice to salvage a draw.
He was again selected in midfield against Croatia U21 on Tuesday 14 October, as the youngsters slipped to a narrow 1-0 loss.
Justin Obikwu
Justin Obikwu represented Trinidad and Tobago as they looked to enhance their bid to reach the World Cup for the first time since 2006.
Dwight Yorke’s side picked up their first win of the group running out 3-0 winners away from home against Bermuda, with Obikwu picking up his fifth cap as a 67th minute substitute.
This is before wrapping up their latest round of games with a 1-1 draw in Curacao on Wednesday 15 October, again kicking off at midnight.
Dexter Lembikisa
Participating in the same qualifying group as his City teammate Obikwu, Dexter Lembikisa who was looking to help Jamaica continue their 100% record in qualifying, as they continued their bid to end their own run without playing at the World Cup.
Despite having a number of chances to win the game, Jamaica lost for the first time in their qualifying group to Curacao, with Lembikisa playing the full 90 minutes.
They bounced back with an emphatic 4-0 win over Bermuda in Kingston. Lembikisa played the full 90 minutes, as Jamaica ended the latest round of international fixtures top of their group and on course for the World Cup.
