Ivan Varfolomeev and Ryan Oné were both in international action on Friday night, with each of their sides playing out draws.
Varfolomeev continued his run of starts in Ukraine’s U21 Euro qualification campaign and completed another 90 minutes. Danylo Krevsun opened the scoring for Ukraine in the 60th minute before they were pegged back 10 minutes later by a Faustas Steponavičius strike for Lithuania U21. The contest finished 1-1, leaving Varfolomeev’s side third in Group H.
Oné was introduced as a half-time substitute replacing Ethan Lawrence in Scotland U21’s 0-0 home draw against Czech Republic U21. The result leaves Scotland third in their group but level on points with Friday’s visitors in second.
Gallagher will be hoping to make his first Republic of Ireland U21 cap against Kazakhstan on Tuesday 31 March (4pm KO) as his side continue their U21 Euro qualification campaign.
Kamil Conteh’s Sierra Leone side will face off against Azerbaijan in their FIFA 2026 Series match on Monday 30 March (4pm KO).
