Imps U18 1 Burton Albion U18 1

Sam Tillen, head coach of Lincoln City U18

Sam Tillen was pleased with the tenacity shown by his players to come back from a goal deficit against Burton Albion U18 at the Elite Performance Centre.

A goal just beyond the hour mark from Gbolahan Okewoye restored parity between the two sides and secured another point in the young Imps' Youth Alliance North campaign.

Tillen said: “We changed the shape and we went a bit more aggressive in terms of how we go and win the ball back and just asked for a bit of a spark, a bit of enthusiasm, a bit of intensity in terms of our in-possession play and I think we produced enough chances to win a couple of games in that second half.”

Tillen praised the work of the young substitute Noah Hutton who he described as sharp after he made an immediate impact following his introduction at half-time.

He added: “For a 15-year-old coming in he’s had three or four games where he’s really made a difference to our team which is fantastic for such a young individual so that bodes well from his perspective as well.”
