City have secured the long-term future of midfielder Dom Jefferies until the summer of 2028 after triggering a clause in his contract.
The 23-year-old signed for the Imps in the summer of 2024 from Gillingham and has since featured 57 times for City, with seven goal contributions to his name.
Sporting director Jez George said: “Dom signed a different type of contract to typical when we found something at his medical before signing him. He has since successfully rehabbed from two major hip surgeries, and it was always our intention to then trigger our option.
“Dom is a crucial player within our squad. He has attributes and behaviours that we really value, he can play in a number of positions but that shouldn't also detract from the fact that we see him as a potential starter within our team as we saw with his contribution last season.
“Dom is an exceptional character, a real fighter, highly thought of by the coaching staff and has the ability to make a big impact for us in the second half of this season.”
