Everyone at Lincoln City would like to thank outgoing Diamond Partners LNER.
This summer brings an end to an incredibly rewarding business relationship, which has spanned over six years and seen them playing a big part in City’s journey to establishing Sky Bet League One status before returning to the Championship for the first time in 65 years as third tier champions.
The Imps have proudly adorned LNER’s name at their home stadium since 2019, remembered legends of eras gone by with the LNER Train of Fame and were joined by the team as City celebrated their historic promotion back to the second tier of English football with an open-top bus parade.
Head of commercial Bobby Copping said: "On behalf of everyone at Lincoln City I would like to say a sincere and heartfelt thank you to LNER.
“Throughout the years they have been a wonderful partner to the football club and we have all thoroughly enjoyed working closely alongside Bethan, Olivia and the rest of the LNER team.
“LNER came in during our first season at Sky Bet League One level and have been there for every step of the journey as we sealed our return to the Championship in 2025/26.
“Both parties felt that this was the right time to part ways after finishing on such a high, after a season that will live long in the memory.
“As both a brand and as people, LNER have played a huge role in our recent history and will always be welcome back here as friends of the football club.”
David Flesher, commercial director at LNER, added: “LNER has been incredibly proud to partner with Lincoln City over the past six years and to play a part in such a memorable period in the club’s history. From matchday activations and supporter competitions, to seeing fans engage with the 'Train of Fame', it’s been wonderful to connect with the city's passionate football community.
“We’ve been with the Imps every step of the way - through supporting our charity partner CALM together during the pandemic to most recently celebrating promotion together – which has made the partnership particularly special. We thank everyone at the club and its supporters for their backing and look forward to following Lincoln City’s continued success.”
Our new stadium naming rights partner will be announced in due course.
