City's focus on fan engagement has again been recognised, with Imps fans having the highest matchday satisfaction in the entire EFL.

In the EFL's Supporters Survey, conducted earlier this season, fans gave the club a rating of 8.7 out of 10 for its matchday experience.

The average for League One as a whole was 7.83 out of 10, with the EFL average being 7.61.

City have a well-established reputation as one of the most welcoming clubs in the EFL, with home and away supporters able to make the most of the Fan Village and various free activities put on by the club's Foundation.

Head of club services Rob Noble said: "With additions such as a big screen in the Fan Village this year we've put a lot of thought into the matchday experience, and it's really pleasing to see this feedback from supporters.

"Our Foundation work hard to provide free family-friendly activities on our 3G pitch and in Poacher's Den, and of course everyone at the club is focused on using the significant investment in facilities this summer to drive our matchday experience still further."

That investment will see a big screen inside the LNER Stadium, a new PA system, floodlights and two permanent large screens outside the stadium itself.

A new conference and event centre will also provide a significant covered area in place of the current Fan Village, while a new community event space will include a coffee shop to provide better facilities on matchdays and for visitors to the LNER Stadium during the week.
