Imps 2 Stockport County 1

Bailey Cadamarteri heads a goal for Lincoln City. He is mid air, with a Stockport player alongside him, with the ball to his right heading towards the net.

Bailey Cadamarteri's fourth goal of the season sealed all three points for City as they came from behind against Stockport County.

His third strike in four matches sealed all three points for the Imps, after Ben House had cancelled out Tanto Olaofe's earlier opener for the visitors.

The visitors went ahead after nine minutes, with Olaofe finishing cooly after getting on the end of a smart Nick Powell pass.

Both sides were forced into early changes through injury, with Ethan Hamilton replacing Ethan Erhahon for City. Ollie Norwood was also sent on for the visitors, replacing  Powell.

City built a stronghold in the game again, with a run of corners - although solid defending from the home side meant now clear chances came from them.

A fantastic headed interception from Ethan Pye prevented Ben House from getting through on goal. And, from the resulting corner, Montsma went close to marking his return to action with a goal having got away from his marker but just unable to cleanly collect with the ball.

A smart short corner routine almost carved out the equaliser. Hamilton had won the corner with a shot which was deflected wide and, from the delivery, he snuck in at the edge of the box and clipped in an effort which just drifted agonisingly wide of the far post.

Jefferies got away but, as he was closed down by several visiting defenders, sent an effort wide.

The deserved leveller came after 41 minutes. Tendayi Darikwa sent in an inch-perfect cross from the right and House made space for himself before a cushioned header to send the ball home.

The Imps had the wind in their sales and were keen to go ahead before the break, with Hamilton seeing a shot parried away by Corey Addai and Jefferies attempting to catch Addai out with a lofted effort.

And Cadamarteri almost scored a Goal Of The Season contender after intercepting a Stockport corner - running the full length of the pitch and getting through on goal, only to see his effort run agonisingly wide.

Despite the ball not ending in the back of the net, the home supporters gave him a rousing reception in recognition of a stunning run.

City were unchanged for the second half, although visiting manager Dave Challinor made three changes as Ben Hinchcliffe, Fraser Horsfall and Kyle Wootton were sent on.

House was close to his second goal of the game after 59 minutes. Montsma sent Cadamarteri away down the right. His pull back found House but the ball was scrambled away by Horsfall.

When City did go ahead, after 66 minutes, it was little surprise that the impressive Cadamarteri was right at the centre of it. He rose highest from Jefferies' corner to head home.

Wootton, one of Stockport's half-time subs, threatened to draw the visitors level after 82 minutes but George Wickens got down brilliantly to stop the shot with his legs.

And a great move at the other end almost saw the Imps extend their lead. In the end a great move down the left resulted in the ball being played back across for Darikwa whose effort was blocked.
