Tendayi Darikwa has been impressed with the intensity of his team-mates as the Imps got stuck into day one of their pre-season training camp in Spain.
The right wing-back signed for City on Friday and has already started building his fitness ahead of the new campaign.
Darikwa said: “The intensity of the session stood out to me. All the boys are here willing to give maximum effort, the quality is showing through already.
“I’m sure the longer pre-season goes on the boys will continue to look fitter and stronger - it’s been good.”
Darikwa also described the importance of joining the team in Spain, and already feels that he has gelled in nicely with the squad.
He added: “It’s important for new signings to join the boys on the pre-season trip abroad, it’s bonding time. You start learning about your team-mates and finding out how they are as people and not just footballers.
“I’m delighted to be here, everyone’s really welcomed me with open arms. I knew a couple of the boys before I signed, and all the staff have made me feel really welcome.”
