City are aware of a number of scam attempts in which individuals are impersonating senior club officials, or intimating they represent Lincoln City Football Club when offering trials and contracts to players, including, but not exclusive to, minors.

We would like to clarify that these communications are fraudulent and do not originate from Lincoln City Football Club.

The Imps would like to reiterate the following:

  • Official club communications will never come from personal email addresses or unofficial messaging accounts.
  • We do not engage with third parties to represent the club, except through player intermediaries under contract, as per the FA rules on intermediaries.
  • The club will never offer trials or contracts to any individual without first speaking to them in person directly through official club staff, who are all UK domiciled and will clearly identify themselves through official club channels.
  • If a player is contracted to an existing club/organisation, their club/organisation will be contacted before the player, or their representative is approached directly.
  • The club will never charge a fee, nor ask that a player or their parent/guardian pay expenses to attend a trial.

If you, or someone you know are contacted by any individual claiming to represent Lincoln City Football Club and you are unsure of the legitimacy of this approach, please do not engage further and report this to the club immediately via reporting@theredimps.com
