Sean Roughan is aiming to help the team with more goal contributions heading into the 24/25 campaign.
The Irishman struck City’s second goal in the 4-0 win at Harrogate Town on Saturday and hopes to build on this throughout the new season.
He said: “It’s always nice to score. Hopefully I can get a lot more going into the season, I just need to be in the right positions and hope it lands for me.
Following a busy transfer window Roughan also believes there’s plenty of competition for places - which he feels will drive the team on to improve.
He added: “The lads have been great and the training has been unbelievable. We’ve got to keep pushing every week as no spot is secure for anyone.
“This group is one of the best I’ve been in. Everyone makes everyone feel welcome and it’s a great environment to be in.”
