Scott Fry has joined the coaching team of Scottish giants Rangers.

Fry has been part of City's coaching team since July 2022, when he initially joined as goalkeeping coach before taking on the responsibility of overseeing set-pieces at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Imps' success with set-pieces, which included the highest differential for goals scored versus goals conceded across all the top leagues in Europe in 2024/25, has understandably attracted interest and Fry has accepted an exciting offer to join the team working with new head coach Danny Röhl at Ibrox. City will receive compensation for releasing Fry from his contract.

City's director of football Jez George said: “Scott leaves with our absolute best wishes. We went on a journey together in terms of our use of AI to improve our processes and design of set plays, which resulted in outstanding outcomes and inevitably attracted the attention of other clubs.

“Scott made it clear that it would take a life changing offer for him to leave and, while we have managed to rebuff a number of approaches, we respect that Rangers have provided him with an opportunity that he can’t turn down. We thank Scott for his contribution to our continued development over the past four seasons, the culture that he has embedded regarding set plays and sincerely wish him well for this next challenge.”
