Firstly, enormous congratulations from FAB to Michael, Jez, the players, staff, owners & board members of the club for an historically successful promotion season which provides all Imps with the opportunity to watch the team play second tier football for the first time ever in the lifetimes of many of us.
We are eternally grateful to you all & for the success enjoyed during the last ten years. Having introduced a succession plan two years ago, I will be stepping down from the chair's role during this close season after eight enjoyable seasons during which time the group has evolved to now enjoy a much wider scope of responsibilities than originally expected which includes providing valued input on strategic off field matters giving our incredible fanbase a voice whose views and feedback are listened to by our ownership and club board as part of their decision making processes.
I am very grateful for the excellent support and friendship given to me by all current and previous team members of FAB who have been an absolute pleasure to work with & who have made my role much easier & very enjoyable. Also, a big thank you to Liam and Clive for introducing a Supporters Board (as it was initially named in 2018) and all current and past club board representatives including Rob Noble (head of club services) for attending and contributing to our meetings.
Also, best wishes in their new roles to Charlie Beeston who is stepping up from vice chair to chair and our newly elected vice chair Nick Procter. We held our final meeting of this historic and memorable season on Good Friday before the victory against AFC Wimbledon. Thanks to Alex Bavin from Lincoln City Foundation for joining us to provide an update on the Premier League Fans' Fund project. As usual we had a busy agenda including an interesting update on Imps Territory and FAB welcomed kind invitations from the club to be part of future Stakeholder Quarterly Meetings & from a local business to have input on the sensitive new branding of the Stacey West Stand.
All this together with forthcoming changes to the Greenlinc Stand to meet Championship requirements, heritage, positive gold membership figures and EFL postponements were covered with full details available to read within our minutes. Many thanks to Marcus Burton and Kevin Harris who emailed fabchair@theredimps.com to raise questions regarding EFL postponements and 1975/76 Fourth Division champions 50th anniversary respectively.
Kevin and I have spent considerable time recently assisting the Former Players Association to contact players from Graham Taylor's record-breaking squad with some success. We look forward to hearing from you as always should you have a question or comment which you would like us to discuss with the club's hierarchy at our next meeting. FAB wishes all Imps fans an enjoyable summer World Cup break with plenty to look forward to in the Championship next season.
