Andrei Coubis cannot wait to begin training with his new team-mates and experience playing in front of the Imps supporters after receiving his work permit.
The 22-year-old centre-back has now been cleared to train and play following his permanent move from FC Universitatea Cluj and is looking forward to taking the next step in his career in the Sky Bet Championship.
Coubis revealed Lincoln City’s vision for the future played a significant part in his decision to join the club.
He said: “After the presentation they made for me, I said to my agent that I just had to come here. Everything about the club impressed me.
“It’s an unbelievable club to join, and the Championship is an unbelievable league for me. I’ll give my best for this club.”
The defender believes English football is the ideal environment for him as he continues his development.
He said: “Playing in the Premier League is my dream and that’s one of the reasons I chose to come to Lincoln City. I think this is the best step for me at this stage of my career.”
Standing at 6ft 5in, Coubis describes himself as a defender who enjoys the physical side of the game.
He said: “I’m a physical centre-back. I love defending and using my strength. I’m aggressive, I’m quick and I like to use my body in duels.
“When I watched Lincoln City play, I felt the style suited me. English football is my type of football.”
Having now received permission to begin work, Coubis is eager to get out on the training pitch at the Gen2 Energy Elite Performance Centre.
He said: “I can’t wait to start training. I want to get to know my new team-mates, the coaching staff and everyone at the club.
“I also can’t wait to meet our supporters and see the stadium for the first time. I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
Coubis also had a message for the Imps faithful as he prepares for his first appearance in red and white.
He added: “I’ve watched videos and seen pictures of the supporters. I just want to say that I can’t wait to see you all at the stadium. I can’t wait to celebrate with you.”
