Several community groups were given a unique chance to play on the LNER Stadium pitch, and get their hands on the Sky Bet League One trophy thanks to Lincoln City Foundation.

Secondary school pupils, walking football participants, after school club members and players involved in the Premier League Kicks tournament all enjoyed unforgettable moments

The unique experience also included photo opportunities with the League One trophy, allowing participants to mark a memorable occasion at the home of the Imps.

All groups are linked to the Foundation, and this is just one of the benefits of partnering with the charitable arm of the football club.

Lauren Kerry, director of delivery, said: “To be able to offer so many different groups the opportunity to play on the pitch at the LNER Stadium was really special. Seeing everyone enjoy the experience and create lasting memories was fantastic.

“Having the chance to get photos with the League One trophy made the occasion even more memorable and it’s a great example of how the Foundation continues to use the power of the club and the stadium to inspire and engage people from across our community.”

Gary Sleight, deputy headteacher at the Priory City Academy, said: “Our students absolutely loved their day at the LNER Stadium. To get to play on the pitch was an amazing opportunity that will live with them forever. To then also get to take photos with the League One trophy as well was absolutely incredible.

“I’ve never seen many of them smile so much - an enormous thank you to everyone at the Foundation for this wonderful opportunity.”
