City head coaches Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw have been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for September.
The nomination follows another positive month for the Imps as they continued to establish themselves in the second tier following promotion as League One champions last season.
City collected eight points from their five Championship fixtures during the month - recording two victories, two draws and one defeat.
September began with a goalless draw against Blackburn Rovers at the ProAmpac Stadium, before City came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton, with Mikkel Ladefoged finding the net with his first goal for the club.
Cohen and Shaw’s side then recorded back-to-back away victories without conceding.
Freddie Draper struck the decisive goal as the Imps secured a 1-0 victory at Preston North End, before the striker was on target again three days later to seal another 1-0 success at Bristol City. That victory extended the Imps' unbeaten Championship run to five matches and lifted the Imps to eighth in the table.
The month concluded with a 2-1 defeat against Swansea City at the ProAmpac Stadium, bringing an end to City’s five-game unbeaten league run.
Across the five league fixtures in September the Imps conceded just three goals and kept three clean sheets, taking eight points from a possible 15.
The nomination continues a strong start to Championship life under Cohen and Shaw, who stepped up to become City’s head coaches during the summer following the club’s promotion to the second tier.
