Sonny Bradley reflected on a memorable campaign after being named Player of the Season at Lincoln City’s End of Season Awards, sponsored by DoughGirl.
Bradley made his 50th appearance in all competitions as the Imps lifted the Sky Bet League One title following victory over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, marking another special moment in a standout campaign in which he played a vital role.
Reflecting on his award success, he said: “I made a promise to the head coach and Jez when I signed that I would give my maximum every day in training or on matchdays - I’d give everything I’ve got. I’ve stood by my word and I’ve done that. I’m immensely proud to have won this award.
“We’ve shown that when we reach our level, we’re a brilliant football team.”
Bradley also pointed to the squad’s attacking variety and mentality as key drivers behind their title-winning season.
“We’ve got a never say die attitude in us. I always feel that we have so many ways of scoring goals. It might come from a long throw, free-kick or second phase - we’ve got a really good record from set pieces.
“From open play we’ve got players like Jack Moylan playing for us, and his goal on Saturday was a thing of beauty; to be behind that was amazing. Resilience, proper character epitomises what Lincoln City is all about.”
With one fixture remaining against Port Vale, Bradley is focused on finishing strongly and making more history.
“A goal on Saturday would be nice, but a win is all I want. To go 29 games unbeaten and finish the season in that manner would be a brilliant achievement.”
