Joe Taylor is confident City can maintain their impressive form if they can match their performance levels from midweek's win.
The Imps turned on the style to win 3-0 against the Shrews at the LNER Stadium, but face a tough test as they welcome Stevenage on Saturday.
Taylor said: “There’s no shying away from it, it’s going to be tough, but arguably we couldn’t come into it in better form so the boys are confident and we back ourselves.
“If we go out there and execute the plan like we did on Tuesday night then I’m sure we’ll come out with a positive result.”
The striker is a man in form, scoring against both Exeter and Port Vale to notch his first goals for the Imps, as well as adding an assist in midweek, which Taylor said has been good for his confidence.
He added: “Scoring my first goals for the club was a massive boost. I’ve found myself at times trying to work too hard to get the first goal, but now I’ve got that I’m full of confidence.
“It’s massive, especially as a centre-forward, because the aim is goals and the hardest goal to get is the first one.”
