Michael Skubala wants his side to keep their intensity levels up as they go in search of a 13th match unbeaten against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
The Imps have scored 11 goals in their past two games but Skubala insists his side must build a level of consistency if they are to keep improving on the current form.
He said: “Playing with intensity is key and I think we saw that for 97 minutes against Cambridge, and that is what was really pleasing about the performance.
“We are starting to get a level of intensity that I am really pleased with at the minute and we want to make that consistent heading into the next few games.
“All we can do is focus on what we are doing and concentrate on Saturday’s game. Bristol Rovers are a very good side and if we are not on it then we can get hurt.”
A bumper home crowd is expected for the upcoming fixture against Bristol Rovers and Skubala wants to give them something to shout about early on by ‘taking the game to them’.
He added: “We are at home and we need to take the game to them. If we’re at our best, hopefully we can come out of it with a positive result.
“I think the crowd have been fantastic, especially since I have come into the building. The players have really connected with the fans which is more important than anything to me.
“We want the fans to enjoy every moment while it’s going well because as we know football can turn quickly.”
