Sean Roughan hopes City can continue their momentum as they aim to make it 13 games unbeaten against Bristol Rovers on Saturday 16 March.
The Imps have scored 11 goals in their past two games, and Roughan is keen to maintain the level of performance throughout the remainder of the season.
Roughan said: “We’re thriving at the minute. We’re doing very well but we can’t let our foot off the gas now, we need to keep going, but it’s probably the best time we’ve had since I’ve been here.
“To be 12 unbeaten and pushing teams high up the league has been really good and long may it continue.
“Football is all about momentum, and as a team we are really confident, so we’re going into games not fearing anyone and taking it game by game.”
Roughan is also enjoying the freedom he is given with the ball under the stewardship of Michael Skubala.
He added: “The coaching staff have been very good with us. Obviously we have a tactical plan but when we get the ball we can roam around and do what we want with the ball.
“I’m really confident. He’s trusted in me: he’s let me play with freedom and I’m enjoying being in possession.
“I’d say I’m a player that likes to be on the ball as a centre-half, I can pick passes out and he trusts me to do that.”
