Paudie O’Connor is full of praise for the City supporters who have sold out the LNER Stadium ahead of Good Friday’s fixture against Leyton Orient.
The Irishman knows about the atmosphere the home crowd can generate and has called upon them to get right behind the team from the first whistle once again.
He said: “Over the last few home games we have given them a lot to shout about, but even in the past six or seven months they have still come out to support us even when results haven’t been going our way.
“It's a massive credit to them and the atmosphere is electric, especially in the first half when we’re looking to get after teams. They are right behind us and help see us through the whole game, so hopefully we can give them more to shout about this weekend.”
After not playing last weekend O’Connor and his team-mates are now ready to build on the current momentum as the Imps go in search of a 14th match unbeaten.
He added: “We’ve come in this week and we’re raring to go again. We’re feeling fresh and ready to attack the game on Friday.
“I think the group is in a good place and we’re now looking forward to getting back out on the pitch and keep hitting the ground running.
“Going into Friday and beyond, it’s about keeping our feet on the ground while having that confidence knowing that we can put in big performances.
“We know it’s going to be a very difficult game against a team who have always been a good footballing side.”
City’s fixture against Leyton Orient is now sold out - but there are still ways to get behind the team through the buyback scheme or via iFollow Imps.
