Jovon Makama described his joy at netting a late winner in City’s dramatic 1-0 victory against Leyton Orient at a sold out LNER Stadium.
The striker came off the bench to arrow a shot into a bottom corner of Sol Brynn’s net and send the Imps faithful into raptures.
Makama said: “We were drawing 0-0 and the game was going towards the end and I had to come up off the bench and make an impact, and that’s what I did.
“The ball came over the top, I’ve gone to hold it up and got dragged to the side. I counter-pressed and didn’t drop my head. I went straight to the ball, blocked his pass and just drove inside and struck it into a bottom corner.”
Makama also spoke about the belief Michael Skubala and the coaching staff have shown in him which has spurred him on to continue to improve his game.
He added: “The coaching staff all believe in me. I talk to them all the time, and I’ve just got to keep my head down, stay focused and keep working hard every single day.
“That’s what I’ve been doing and recently there’s been a big improvement.”
