Michael Skubala is looking forward to spending some time on the training pitch over the coming weeks.
Matches have come thick and fast since his appointment, with all but two of the training days since he came in being focused on matchday preparation or recovery from a game.
With no fixture until January 13, City's head coach is pleased to be able to take stock and expects to have more players available for selection ahead of the trip to Wycombe Wanderers.
He said: “We have to be realistic, but also optimistic with what is to come around the corner. My job is to ensure we keep improving and we need to use this time to be really good on the training pitch.
“We’re limited for bodies at the moment and I don’t want to say we’re unlucky because we have to be better in both boxes, but nobody within the club ever known anything like this. We have 10 big players out who could start these games."
The head coach knows festive results have not been good enough, even taking into account the club's lengthy injury list.
He added: "We need to repair bodies as best we can, then we’ve got some work to do because without doubt we need to get better and be more ruthless in certain areas.
“I put pressure on myself to improve and whoever wears the Lincoln shirt needs to show desire and application too. Ultimately we have to be braver and more ruthless in both boxes."
