Michael Skubala is excited about the attacking depth that Joe Taylor and Freddie Draper can provide his side.
Injuries to key forward players has left Skubala and his team light in forward areas, but City’s head coach hopes that the reinforcements of their January signings will help them for the rest of the season.
Skubala said: “It’s been good to freshen up the squad and have some new faces. We have Freddie Draper back, and Joe Taylor’s come into the building which we feel we’ve done really well to get over the line.
“They’re still young, but they bring a physical presence. Freddie has been brilliant in training, you can see how he can cause serious issues for defenders. Freddie is one of our own, and I think both of them have hit it off as a little partnership which is nice to see.”
Skubala has also been grateful for the time he has had with the players since the end of the Christmas schedule.
He added: “We’ve come off the back of a busy Christmas period, and we’ve had three or four days training without the pressure of games which has been brilliant.
“Now we’re back prepping for Wycombe, but it’s been great to have a few days with the lads. I think it’s always difficult to come in mid-season and change things radically, but the principles we can do, and we’ve been doing them right this week.”
