The Foundation will be holding free blood pressure checks for supporters ahead of three designated home fixtures for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
City's fixtures against Exeter City on Saturday 17 February, Leyton Orient on Friday 29 March and Wigan Athletic on Saturday 13 April will be the matches where blood pressure checks will be available.
The checks are designed to spot hypertension and advise individuals with a high blood pressure reading to seek further medical advice and arrange an appointment with their GP.
High blood pressure can lead to many complications such as kidney failure, heart disease and heart failure, problems with eyesight, and vascular dementia.
Therefore, making an individual aware of a high blood pressure reading is an important health prevention step, avoiding escalation into more serious health conditions.
A branded gazebo will be located outside the Foundation’s offices where the blood pressure checks will be administered.
Staff manning the stations will be trained in knowing what is a healthy reading and what is a high reading. If an individual receives a high reading then staff will advise individuals to seek further medical support.
The blood pressure checks have been funded by the Health Inequalities VCSE Grant Fund.
The Health Inequalities VCSE Grant Fund has been provided by Lincolnshire ICB and given to LVET CIC to distribute across the voluntary and community sector, to deliver projects supporting health inequalities across the county.
