Joe Taylor is looking to climb the Sky Bet League One table after a 1-0 victory over Exeter City saw the Imps stretch their unbeaten run to seven.
Taylor’s dinked finish after 68 minutes was the loanee’s first for City since a January move from Luton Town, and sealed a second consecutive home win for his side.
Taylor said: “We’re all buzzing because we managed to see it over the line and get the three points.
“As a team we’re looking up, we’re trying to climb that table as much as we can. That’s us unbeaten in seven now, and I’m pleased to have got my first goal on top of that.”
Ted Bishop’s delightful pass in behind the Grecians’ defence set Taylor away to score the winner, and the forward praised the impact of the midfielder.
He added: "Obviously the lads worked their socks off, but we just needed a bit more in the final third and Ted’s got that.
"It was one of his first involvements, and you expect that from him. I just had to put myself on the last line and the shoulder of the defence - thankfully it went in."
